RDD’s anti-polythene drive BDO Mathwar conducts surprise check; seize over 20 kg polythene bags

Jammu, May 19: As a part of ‘Swachh Saptah’ campaign, Block Development Officer, Mathwar and Naib Tehsildar Agore on Friday conducted market checking campaign to collect polythene bags in Ranjan, Jandyal Upper and Jandyal lower, Thathi etc. ensuring participation of people.
The drive was led by BDO Mathwar, Dr Shahid Iqbak Mughal in which Naib Tehsildar Agore sarpanches, and prominent citizens of the area also participated.
During the surprise checking, the BDO with other officials seized polythene bags which were being used in some of the shops in area. Around 20 kg polythene bags were sized.
During the campaign, the BDO Mathwar Dr.Shahid Iqbal Mughal sought help of the businessmen to stop the use of polythene bags permanently and assured them that all possible help from the department to ensure cleanliness and development of the market area.
The officials also installed dust bins. The shopkeepers participated in the campaign and willingly handed over Meanwhile, cleanliness drive was also launched in the area.
Pertinently, the drive across the State has been launched on directions from the Rural Development Department Minister Abdul Haq Khan under the supervision of Director RDD Jammu RK Bhat, ACD Jammu Mohd Tasir Latifi and DPO Jammu Dr Anirudh.
