Erring driver who thrashed traffic cop in Srinagar arrested: Police

Srinagar, June 14: Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday arrested a driver who allegedly thrashed a traffic cop during a scuffle yesterday.
A police spokesman said that traffic officials deputed for checking illegal parking at Residency Road towed a car bearing registration No. JK05F 9966 on Wednesday.
He said the owner objected to the police action, resulting in a scuffle with the deputed traffic official.
“Police party of Police Station Kothi Bagh reached on spot and took cognizance of the matter in which erring driver was taken into custody and vehicle in question was also seized,” he said.
In this regard, a case FIR No 50/2018 under section 353 RPC stands registered and all efforts are on to arrest another accused.
