    73rd constitution day, seminar organised in jammu

    Jammu, 26-Nov: All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations J&K in collaboration with Nami Dogri Sanstha organised a seminar on “Role of Dr BR Ambedkar For drafting Indian Constitution” at Press Club Jammu, to mark the 73rd Constitution Day.
    Capt Lalit Sharma IFS APCCF (Retd) presided over the function, Advocate Sonia Kapoor was Chief Guest, and Jameel Kazmi Senior Advocate was guest of honour on the occasion.

    RK Kalsotra, President Confedration, presented welcome address and touched upon salient features of the Constitution vis -a -vis the contributions of Baba sahib in drafting the Constitution. He noted that it was on 26th november 1949 that the Constitution of India was adopted. later on 26th January 1950 it was fully implemented in India. He highlighted that the principles of equality, liberty, fraternity, justice were available to only a few sections of the society but Dr Ambedkar worked to enshrine them on every one irrespective of their caste, class, gender, religion, region. He further added that Dr Ambedkar included equal provisions for women as well which gave them access to spaces that were restricted before.

    Capt Lalit Sharma IFS Convener NDS while paying homage to Dr BR Ambedkar described our Costitution as a visionary road map for the country and the countrymen to move on. He further said that we are indebted to the constitution as it safeguards our languages , art and cultures and it was possible due to provisions of Indian Constitution that our mother tongue dogri has got worldwide recognition by way of its inclusion in the 8th schedule of the Constitution .

    Advocate Sonia Kapoor was thankful to Dr Ambedkar for constitutionally protecting the rights of women and it is because of constitutional provisions that women are excelling in different fields. Advocate Jameel Kazmi said that the country has moved forward under the provisions of the constitution which has proved to be the best in the world but fault is ours that constitutional provisions are some times misused or violated and every Indian should endeavour to protect the spirit and provisions of the constitution .

    Advocate Manohar Singh Samyal said that for him the constitution is as pious as the religious books as it empowers and protects our interests in all walks of life . S Sansar Singh, renowned person from media fraternity, while paying tributes to Dr Ambedkar said that he gave us the finest document to run the country and cautioned the countrymen to remain ever vigilant so that no body dares to fiddle and violate the constitutional provisions. Advocate Harish Kaila, President NDS said that Constitution given by Dr BR Amedkar has stood test of the time .

    Giani S Kuldeep Singh, known social worker, said that it is the duty of all Indians to protect the spirit and ethos of the constiturion. Shahid Salim, eminent Journalist, while appreciating the constitution said that it suffered violation by scrapping provisions of Article 370 and 35A and this abbretion needs to be ratified. Dr AC Bhagat said that our constirurion is best in the world which aims at our fraternity , equality , unity and justice .

    S Nirmal Singh, Senior Vice President Lababa Brathery, said that people of our state should remain vigilant to safeguard our constitutional rights which has direct bearing on our future . Er Hem Raj Phonsa reminded the vision of Dr Ambedkar to have strong social democratic
    base for strong political democracy. Yash Pal Yasg General Secretary NDS conducted the proceedings in a befitting manner.
