Rajouri, Aug 6: Shutdown is being observe in several areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir against the petitions challenging Article 35-A, which bars outsiders from buying immovable property in the state.
A protest rally was taken out in Gujjar Mandi area of the Rajouri town amid a shutdown called by the All Party Coordination Committee against attack on Article 35-A.
In Darhal tehsil of Rajouri, all business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads.
Protests were held in Thanamandi and Majakote areas amid a complete shutdown in the area.
In Mendhar tehsil of Poonch, a protest demonstration is going on to protest against any attempt to fiddle with the state’s special status.
Protests were also held in Surankote, Mandi and Poonch town amid a complete shutdown.
