Srinagar: Several roads leading to border areas in north Kashmir’s Kupwara districts were closed on Tuesday following fresh snowfall in higher reaches and rains in plains.
Reports said that the higher reaches of Kupwara are witnessing snowfall from early morning due to which the border roads have been closed.
The road connecting Machil and Keran with the district headquarters have been closed for vehicular movement, however the road connecting Tanghdar with Kupwara is open for traffic.
“The roads have been closed for vehicular movement as these areas are avalanche prone. The roads will be re-opened with the improvement in weather,” said a top official in the district administration.
