Srinagar, Aug 3: Hundreds joined a protest march on Friday led by MLA Langate Er Rasheed in Handwara against the “conspiracies being hatched against Article 35-A” and other related provisions.
The spokesman said that protestors while holding play cards in their hands took a pledge to continue their fight for the right to self-determination and promised to support the just cause of resolution of Kashmir.

The spokesman quotes Er Rasheed saying “the conspiracy against 35-A is just to make Kashmiris defensive, but people of the state are united in defending the special status of the state till the Kashmir issue is permanently resolved. Let New Delhi resolve Kashmir by fulfilling the commitments made with Kashmiris at United Nations and if people of the state vote in favor of India, let the government of India abrogate all those articles which grant special status to J&K. whatsoever is being done, is just an attempt to dilute the real Kashmir cause, but Kashmiris have their own compulsions and reasons to defend Article 370, 35-A and other related articles”.
Rasheed said that it is New Delhi which has broken the promises from 1947 till date and has itself weakened the relationship between Srinagar and New Delhi. Despite the accession between J&K and rest of India being temporary, it is New Delhi which always has proved arrogant and has bulldozed every commitment made with people of Jammu & Kashmir one by one as such the onus lies on New Delhi whatsoever has been happening in J&K.
