      DGP shows concern for policemen; take care of yourself, families while performing duties

    Dilbagh singhSrinagar: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday advised policemen and officers to take care of themselves and their families while performing duties in  Jammu and Kashmir, a police spokesman said here on Tuesday.

    He said Singh today visited central Kashmir district of Budgam and interacted with police officers and policemen in District Police Lines (DPL) and also inspected stores of the district.

    Addressing the officers and policemen, DGP said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has earned a good name at National level by the dint of its courage and bravery and its contribution is being recognized internationally.

    He said that the all forces have taken effective measures to maintain peace and order in the state and it is due to these measures and synergy between forces that we have achieved bigger successes in our fight against militancy in recent days.

    The DGP appreciated the work of Jammu and Kashmir police and all security forces and said that recent security measures have helped in achieving more successes against the terrorism during the recent weeks.

    He said the field officers particularly the range and District officers are doing a good job providing excellent leadership at different levels.

    However, DGP advised the policemen and officers to take care of themselves and their families while performing duties.

    The advice by DGP came in the backdrop of recent attack on police personnel and their families in the Kashmir valley.

    He said that the police leadership is much concerned about the welfare of its personnel and the families of slain policemen.

    Ex-gratia relief for the families of martyrs has been enhanced and every possible assistance is provided to them under different schemes, DGP added.

    Singh assured that all the genuine demands of police personnel will be addressed. He thanked the government for fulfilling the demands of police and expressed hope that the government will address other demands as well.

    He said that during past one month rewards of over Rs three crore has been sanctioned for the personnel of different districts who exhibited courage and bravery while performing different duties. He said that over three thousand personnel have been promoted in recent past and all the case of compensation were cleared by Police Headquarter.
