Srinagar, Aug 8: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Veege top area of Rafiabad town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.
An official said that a joint team of Army’s 9 Para commandos, 32 RR, and SOG Cordoned off Veege top area of Rafiabad, following specific inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team intensified the searches, the hiding militants opened fire triggering an encounter. When last reports came in intermittent firing was going on.
