    Forces launch CASO in Mehand village, firing resumes in Srigufwara

    Srinagar, June 22: Government forces on Friday cordoned off the Mehand village of Islamabad after receiving the inputs of the presence of militants in the area.
    An official said that firing has resumed in Srigufwara village in Islamabad after a brief lull. The gunfight in Srigufwara started on today early morning, so far, a civilian, policeman and four militants have been killed and two army men and several civilians have sustained injuries.
    “Mehand an adjoining village of Srigufwara in Islamabad has been cordoned off now after receiving the inputs of militants in the area,” said an official.
    Earlier, several youths were reportedly injured near the encounter site in Srigufwara, while some of them have been referred to Srinagar hospitals for the further treatment.
