    Home minister Amit Shah chairs security review meet on J&K in Delhi

    New Delhi Sep.09amit Shah: Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting to review the security situation and development in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the MHA spokesperson informed on Thursday.
    “He appreciated the initiatives on development taken by the UT administration to fulfill PM Modi’s vision for the region,” the statement added.
    Issues related to security and development in the union territory as well as border preparedness were discussed, news ANI reported.
    The high-level meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Army Chief MM Naravane, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and other senior officials from security agencies.
    Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Director General Kuldeep Singh and Border Security Force (BSF) chief Pankaj Singh were also present in the meeting, ANI reported crediting MHA sources.
    According to the inputs, this was the first such high-level meeting in North Block after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. The Home Ministry meeting comes after another high-level meeting was held on Monday at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence over the developing situation in the region.
    Lasting almost two hours, the key meeting was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Army Chief General Bipin Rawat.
    According to sources, the issue of the ongoing situation in Afghanistan was discussed in detail. The matter of internal security was discussed in particular keeping into consideration the possible threats posed by the Taliban rule in the worn-torn country along with the terrorist organisations based in Pakistan.
    As per inputs, a detailed view of the excessive role being played by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies and its army in Afghanistan was presented. Apart from this, the use and presence of the Pakistani Army Battalion and Air Force in Panjshir were also discussed.
    Countries around the world are keeping an eye on Afghanistan and India is also in contact with them over the developing situation. At present, India is on a wait and watch mode, closely studying the Taliban’s advances like the rest of the world, sources said after the key meeting on Monday.
    Meanwhile, security forces in J&K are alert as Pakistan’s intelligence wing – Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is reportedly sending the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) cadre to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) with an aim to jolt the Indian territory.
    According to latest intelligence inputs, the ISKP cadres were released from Afghanistan’s jails recently and had returned to Pakistan. Now, the ISI has instructed them to execute its terror agenda in the Valley
