    In NCC, girls’ participation increases to over 35%, Says DG NCC

    Monitoring Desk,06-Jan; The girls’ participation in National Cadet Corps, NCC has increased to over 35 percent currently as compared to 13 percent in 2010.

    Addressing a press conference on NCC Republic Day camp in New Delhi today, DG NCC, Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh said that the girls’ participation from Kerala, North East, and Delhi had increased. He said that over two thousand cadets, including 710 girls from all States and Union Territories, were participating in the nearly month-long NCC Republic Day camp. It also includes 114 cadets from Jammu and Kashmir and 120 cadets from the North-Eastern Region. Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh said that cadets from 19 countries were also participating in the youth exchange program.

    During the camp, the cadets will participate in a number of activities, including cultural competitions, national integration awareness programs, and institutional training. The aim of the camp is to provide exposure to the rich culture and traditions of the country through important events that take place in the national capital. In addition, the objective is to enhance the personality traits of the cadets and strengthen their value system.
