    JKPCC remembers Rajiv Gandhi on death anniversary

    Jammu,May 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A.Mir today paid glowing tributes to Former Prime Minister (Bharat Ratna) Rajiv Gandhi on his death Anniversary and lauded his selfless services & sacrifices to the Nation.Remembering Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary, JKPCC President G.A. Mir described him as a visionary and leader of masses, who led the country to progress and inclusive development in every respect.
    In a statement to KNS they said, the sacrifices of Former Prime will continue to inspire the generations, leading them at the path of unity and harmony, PCC President said.
    Mir said the Nation would continue to remain indebted to Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi for his selfless services and sacrifices, who is credited of taking the prestige of the Nation to the new heights in respect of communication, science technology, education, health infrastructure, defense. Rajiv Gandhi introduced Panchayati Raj System and it’s implementation turned out to be a milestone in the developmental process of the Country, besides bringing the development at the door steps of the people, which proved a big source of employment generation for the common people at grass root level, he said.
    The Nation has lost a great leader in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, shall continue to miss him for his concern about the wellbeing of the countrymen, Mir added.
    Meanwhile J&K Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) in a meeting of Senior Party Leaders presided over by Bashir Ahmad Magrey remembered Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary and payidrich tributes to the departed leader.
    The best way to pay homage to Rajiv Gandhi on his death is to serve and work for the wellbeing of the people, besides maintaining brotherhood and communal harmony amongst different communities living in the Country.On this occasion, the participants lashed out at the BJP RSS over disturbing the socio-political scenario, besides exploiting people for the sake of power and said people have realized as to what BJP is doing for their welfare ,the day is not far when they will give a befitting reply to BJP for failing them (People) on all fronts.
    The Participants also paid glowing tributes to other leaders, who were also assassinated on this day and lauded the services they have rendered to the people of J&KAmong other who addressed the meeting included Senior Leaders Bashir Ahmad Magrey, Srinagar District President Abdul Gani Khan, Mahila Vice President Shameema Raina, Senior Leaders Abid Kashmiri, Amir Raool, Nissar Ahmad Mundoo, Dr. Ayoub Matoo and others.
    Similarly, the District Congress Committee Kupwara held a meeting of senior party workers at Lolab in which the participants paid glowing tributes to Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary.
    The meeting was presided over by District President Haji Farooq Mir, who described the departed leader visionary and upright personality under whose leadership the Nation witnessed massive development in every respect, Similar functions were also held at all party headquarters across Jammu Province. On this occasion Ration items packed vehicles were also flagged off for distribution among needy in different locations of Jammu to mark the occasion.Prominent among those who paid tributes include Raman Bhalla Vice President PCC , Ravinder Sharma Chief Spokesperson PCC , Incharge Congress Control Room and Former Minister J&K YogeshSawhney , Manmohan Singh General Secretary PCC , Neeraj Gupta Secretary PCC , Surinder Singh Shingari Sr. Congress leader , Suresh Dogra Chairman OBC PCC , PranavShagotra , Dr. RamaKantKhajuria , PawanDev , JyotiVaid , Anoop Gupta , Sushant Gupta , Gurmeet Singh , Sohan Dutt Sharma , Hardavinder Singh , Ajay Kumar, Ram Mangotra beside others. Meanwhile former acting Chairman of JK Legislative Council and senior Congress leader Arvinder Singh Micky also remembered Rajiv Gandhi and paid rich tributes to him.
    While paying floral tributes former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla described Rajiv Gandhi as a Visionary Leader who prepared the country and the youth of the nation for the challenges of the 21st century in the world. He introduced the I.T revolution in the country as a result India has immerged as leader in the field of I.T and Computer in the world He asked the party leaders and grass root workers to highlight the great achievements of the party amongst the people and to expose the falsehood and propaganda of the BJP. He said that congress is committed to maintain the unity and integrity of the country and religious brotherhood for which our leaders have given supreme sacrifices. Several other senior leaders paid rich tributes to the leader and described him as the Architect of 21st century India because his initiatives in bringing IT revolution, Panchayat Raj System and greater involvement of youth in democracy.
    JKPCC Chief Spokesman Ravinder Sharma speaking on the occasion recalled the sacrifice and services of Rajiv Gandhi for the cause of the country. He said Rajiv Gandhi has a great role in improving Panchayati Raj system, computer revolution and expansion of IT sector. Massive development in the rural India was witnessed during his tenure as Prime Minister. Sharma also said Rajiv Gandhi was a martyr and the country owes a debt of gratitude to its martyrs.Rajiv Gandhi felt the pulse of a young India & steered us towards a brighter future, he understood the needs of the young & old and was loved by one and all,” he said.
