Jammu, May 21 : An executive body consultative meeting of Jammu Muslim Front (JMF) was held telephonically to discuss the Domicile Law and its consequences on the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement JMF said the Domicile Law which was thrust upon innocent people of the Jammu and Kashmir state, who are under President’s rule, was discussed in the meeting. The statement said, “The issue was discussed threadbare in the meeting and the members of the executive body were of the opinion that the hurriedly imposing the Law, in the absence of Supreme Court decision on many pending writ petition invites contempt of court and the spirit of the bill is injurious.”“As such, front members came to conclusion that all the promises made to people of state were an eye wash and Jammu and Kashmir has been robbed of its constitutional rights by such dubious orders which make mockery of the law of the land’, added the statement. Senior members of the Front expressed that the Domicile Law is incomplete till the occupied part of Kashmir Gilgat Baltistan is not mentioned and annexed in it and as such this order seems to forfeit its claim on POK, which is shameful, the statement added. JMF in its statement termed the Domicile Order, an outcome of poor vision, leaving its claim on POK and superseding Supreme Court of India. JMF, through its statement appealed President of India to scrap, what it called a crippled order till the pendency of cases in Supreme Court and till the occupied parts return to state, as being promised by the Prime Minister on many occasions.(CNS)
