Jammu, 06-Aug:KASHMIRI DISPLACED PEOPLE WING (J&K)of Democratic Progressive Azad Party Highlight Problems of Displaced People.
A joint statement issued by the Kashmiri Displaced People Wing through its President Shri Sanjay Dhar, Chairman Sh.Piaray Lal Pandita,Raj Kumar Ticku, General Secretary,Daizy Dhar, President Mahila Wing,Geeta Koul,Vice President Mahila Wing, Naveen Gosani President Youth,Sheekha Koul Women’s Youth President and other members,wherein the following burning problems were highlighted for earliest mitigation by the concerned Authorities.
The Leaders requested the Govt.to control the alarming risen hikes in day to day commodities especially the Cooking gas which has touched about Rs.1200/- per cylinder now which has now become unaffordable for a middle class large family.In this context the Leaders have appealed the Govt.to open fair price grocery shops in Displaced People Camps,so as to control the exorbitant risen costs by private agencies.
The Leaders have appealed the Govt.to direct Consumer Food and Supplies Department for releasing quota of Atta(Flour) in the displaced Camps, abundant from last four months,without assigning any reason,thereby creating a problem for diabetic patients of the Camp People.The Leaders have appealed the Govt.to enhance the Cash Assistance of migrant relief holders from Rs.108/- per soul per day to Rs.250/- per soul per day,as the rates of essential commodities have risen to the sky.
The Leaders have appealed the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner Migrants to order for immediate clearance of the grass in the Parks,lanes of Jagti Camp,as due to monsoon the grass has become prone for the people to lead towards Asthema,besides have demanded for improvement of sanitation ,as the Camp Commandant requires to be directed to monitor these works usually. The Leaders have demanded that the Water Supply Scheme be handed over immediately to Jal Shakti Department,as per Govt.orders issued during 2021,so as to save the loss of Govt.exchequer being enjoyed by Private Contractors with supply of unhygienic and Dilly dally irregular water supply to the Jagti Camp.
The Leaders have appealed the Commissioner Secretary Relief and Disaster Management to allot the Shops of Jagti Camp to deserving shop keepers to save these shops from deterioration,besides issuance of directions to concerned for repair and renovation of main road,lanes and by lanes in All Migrant Camps,including Jagti.
The Leaders have appealed the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Migrants to allot an Ambulance Van with arrangements of Firewood from Forest Department on Concessional rates to the Cremation ghat at Jagti,which is the earnest requirement,besides the rectification of water supply system in the Cremation ghat needs to be restored.
The Leaders appealed the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Migrants to post the permanent trained staff in three Zones of Jagti,instead of need based people,and three Tehsildars require to be posted in three Zones as only one Tehsildar is not able to develop the Camp except attending office works,resulting in unattending the Camp Sanitation,renovation,repairs, as the Camp Commandant holds also maintenance of estates also.
