Reacting to a remark by BJP leader, Harish Dwivedi about the Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s choice of clothes in a demeaning manner, former chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti slammed the BJP leader and said ‘what a woman chooses to wear is none of anybody’s business’.
“Sadly even in todays modern world, patriarchy plus brazen sexism always raises its ugly head & is normalised. What a woman chooses to wear is none of anybodys business. Anyone who indulges in such talk clearly needs therapy so I hope he gets well soon,” Mehbooba wrote on Twitter.
Weeks after Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s official entry into politics, Dwivedi while interacting with the media person at Basti in Uttar Pradesh said; “everyone knows that when Priyanka Gandhi is in Delhi, she wears jeans and top but dons saree and sindoor when she comes to the constituencies.”
Priyanka Gandhi was formally appointed as the General Secretary in-charge of Congress party in Uttar Pradesh East.
