A minor boy received serious skull injuries when government forces allegedly fired tear smoke shells and rubber bullets on a group of stone-throwing in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Saturday evening.
Eyewitness told Rising Kashmir that CRPF men deployed in Arampora area of Sopore fired tear smoke shells and rubber bullets to disperse a group of stone pelting youth on Saturday evening resulting in the skull injuries to a minor boy Rizwan Ahmad Kaboo son of Reyaz Ahmad Kaboo of Arampora, Sopore.
Rizwan, according to the eyewitness, received serious skull injuries and was immediately taken to sub-district hospital Sopore, from where he was shifted to SKIMS, Soura Srinagar for advanced treatment.
A doctor at SDH Sopore told Rising Kashmir that the minor boy was hit by a rubber bullet in his head.
SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal told Rising Kashmir that a forces’ vehicle was attacked by the stone-throwing youth at Arampora on Saturday evening and in the retaliatory action the minor got injured.
“We have registered a case and further investigation is taken up. We are ascertaining as what actually happened at the spot,” SSP Sopore informed Rising Kashmir .
