    Mrs. Funnybones returns to films

    Actress-turned bestselling author Twinkle Khanna is launching her own production company with Balki’s Akshay Kumar-starrer Mrs Funnybones mrs-funnybonesis looking at another innings at the movies, this time, from behind the scenes. That Twinkle has conceptualised her first film -R Balki’s next directorial that features Akshay, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles and also has Balki regular Amitabh Bachchan in a special appearance. The film also marks the debut of the actress-turnedauthor’s production house, Mrs Funnybones Movies.

     

    A source informs Mirror, `It’s Twinkle’s concept that will be entirely developed by Balki who is writing the script, screenplay and dialogues. Twinkle will not be involved in the writing process.The film goes on the floors in March next year.” When asked about the film, Akshay said jokingly, `She (Twinkle) is the producer and I will work on a salary.” Twinkle has always been credited as a co-producer on all Hari Om Productions films (founded by Akshay and named after his late father), as is Gauri Khan for Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd., and Kiran Rao for Aamir Khan Productions. But unlike the other star wives, Twinkle was never involved in any aspect of her home productions. This time, however, it’s entirely her baby. `There are two kinds of slates being planned for Mrs Funnybones Movies for 2017 ¬ one for mainstream films and the second for off-beat fare. All the films will be presented by Twinkle,` reveals a source close to the actress-writer.

     

    Meanwhile, Akshay’s association with his partner Ashvini Yardi’s Grazing Goat productions, which was founded in 2011 and also had Twinkle as one of its co-producers, ended with Singh is Bliing in 2015, even though no formal announcement has been made by the actor.
