    Omar Abdullah pitches for State polls in Jammu and Kashmir; casts vote from Srinagar Lok Sabha Seat

    Srinagar: National Conference (NC) Chief Farooq Abdullah along with son Omar Abdullah on Thursday cast their vote in Srinagar Parliamentary Seat in the Phase-II of Polling. Farooq Abdullah is seeking an election from Srinagar Lok Sabha Seat where is taking on the Bharatiya Janata Party Candidate Khalid Jehangir, PDP’s Aga Syed Mohsin and People Conference’s Irfan Raza Ansari.

    Speaking to the media after casting his vote, National Conference working President he believed that the Central Government and Poll Body will soon conduct assembly polls in the Valley.

    Omar Abdullah said as quoted by ANI said, ‘Now that LS polls are due to conclude, we can only hope that Centre together with EC gives people of J&K an elected govt which is their right’.

    Jammu and Kashmir is currently under President rule over six months of governor’s rule. The Political crisis in the state occurred last year after PDP led Coalition Government was reduced to a minority after the withdrawal of support by 25 Bharatiya Janata Party’s Lawmakers in the state.
