    PM Modi inaugurates integrated e-Gram Swaraj, GeM portal for public procurement at Panchayat level

    Monitoring Desk,24-Apr; Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said budget allocated for Panchayats has been increased to more than two lakh crore rupees after 2014 which was earlier less than 70,000 crores rupees. Addressing people in Reva, Madhya Pradesh, on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations, Modi said, government is constantly working to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system in the country.
    Modi said whichever schemes the government has made to make life easier for rural India, Panchayats are realizing them on the ground with full dedication. Prime minister said, before 2014, 6000 Panchayat Ghar were built but 30,000 new Panchayat Ghar have been constructed in the last 8 years.
    He said, a roof over every head, a home for every poor as PM AwasYojana is bringing the dream of owning a house to millions of Indians, creating a better tomorrow for families across the nation.
    Prime Minister laid the foundation stone and inaugurated projects worth more than 17 thousand crores. He also virtually attended the house warming ceremony of 4 lakh 11 thousand beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
    Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the integrated e-Gram Swaraj and GeM portal for public procurement at the Panchayat level. The objective of this project is to enable Panchayats to market their goods and services through GeM.
    The Prime Minister also hand over around 35 lakh Swamitva Property Cards to the beneficiaries. With the handing over of these cards, about 1 crore 25 lakh property cards have been distributed under this scheme in the country.
    Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various railway projects worth about two thousand three hundred crore rupees. Modi laid the foundation stone of 5 projects of Jal Jeevan Mission worth about seven thousand 853 crore rupees. Around 9.5 lakh families of more than 4 thousand villages will be benefitted by these schemes.
    Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Panchayati Raj Minister Giriraj Singh and several Union ministers were present on the occasion.(
