Srinagar, June 17: A policeman injured in a militant attack in Kak Sarai area on Friday continues to be in a critical condition at SKIMS Soura while 19 people injured on Eid day are being treated at various city hospitals.
The policeman was injured along with a colleague in the attack outside the SMHS hospital on Friday.
“He is very critical and is on life support at the hospital,” said a doctor.
Meanwhile, 19 people injured in violent incidents across Kashmir on Eid-ul-Fitr were being treated at SMHS hospital.
11 of these had pellet injuries to eyes, hospital administration said. Doctors said the extent of damage to their eyes was being evaluated. One of these patients, they said, had injuries to both eyes.
MS SMHS Hospital Dr Saleem Tak said that all the 19 patients were stable and “almost all” had been injured by pellet shotguns.
In addition six people with bullet injuries to limbs were under treatment at Bone and Joints Hospital, while one more person, with pellet injury to eye was being treated at SKIMS Medical College Hospital.
