    Polling materials, personnel reach booths

TIRUNELVELI: After three-week-long unimpressive electioneering, the Tirunelveli and Tenkasi (Reserved) Lok Sabha constituencies are going into polls on Thursday in which 30.35 lakh voters are going to decide the electoral fortunes of 51 candidates in fray in these two segments.

In Tirunelveli constituency, 15,46,212 voters including 7,58,331 men, 7,87,813 women and 68 other voters are expected to cast their votes in 1,783 booths.

In Tenkasi (Reserved) constituency, 14,88,944 voters including 7,32,490 men, 7,56,376 women and 78 other voters are likely to exercise their franchise in 1,738 booths.

After receiving their orders in respective taluk offices, the polling personnel left for their respective locations in the afternoon. Moreover, the polling materials were also sent to the booths from the taluk offices in GPS-fitted vehicles with police protection.

In Tirunelveli city, 420 booths, including 56 critical ones, are located. Live web streaming will be done in the critical polling stations, which will be provided adequate security arrangements.
