Srinagar, Aug 10: Protests were held amid a complete shutdown in Tral township of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday against the arrest spree.
Scores of people took to streets and pelted stones on army vehicles passing through the area to lodge their protest against the detention of eleven persons in past couple of days.
Shops and business establishments remained closed in the town while traffic was off the roads.
Police on Tuesday night detained 11 people during raids, a police official told Greater Kashmir.
The detentions came in the wake of a string of attacks on Special Police Officers (SPOs) in the town.
