Poonch, Aug 3: Protests were held in Mandi tehsil of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday against the onslaughts on Article 35-A of the Constitution that grants special status to the state.
Reports said that thousands of people took out separate protest marches from mosques soon after congregational weekly prayers. The prayer leaders of the mosques also participated in the protest march.
The protesters while warning against annulment of the Article 35 A raised pro-freedom and pro-Kashmir slogans.
The protesters said that the region will observe shutdown along with other parts of the state on August 6 when the Supreme Court hears petitions seeking abrogation of the article.
