Jammu: The weatherman on Tuesday issued an advisory for Jammu and Kashmir predicting moderate rain or snow over the state from November 1 to November 3, which it said, might lead to temporary closure of highways.An advisory issued here by Meteorological department said a spell of light to moderate rain/snow (over higher reaches) is likely from the night of October 31 to November 3 with maximum intensity on 1st and 2nd November in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Moderate snowfall is expected 1-2nd Nov on Mughal Road, Zojila, Sinthan Top, north Kashmir, and mountains of Ladakh, mainly Kargil districts, which may lead to temporary closure of highways,” it said.
Meanwhile, Skymet weather reported that up in North, a fresh Western Disturbance is over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir.
“With this, scattered light rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir but Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand would continue to be dry,” the weather report said, adding the system would also not affect weather over northwestern plains including Delhi, which would remain dry and warm.
“However, nights would be cool and pleasant,” it added.
