Srinagar, May 18: The residents of Shopian district in south Kashmir on Friday appealed to the authorities to restore high-speed Internet as they were facing extreme difficulties due to unavailability of the service.
Scores of residents, including traders and students, told Greater Kashmir that their daily routine had got badly affected due to unavailability of high speed Internet service. “It takes lot of time to load a page. I am unable to even send across an e-mail,” said Bilal Ahmad, a resident of Shopian town.
Expressing similar woes, scores of other people from the district said that 2G speed, which was restored in the district couple of days ago after nearly three weeks, also gets interrupted frequently.
The students preparing for competitive exams have been worst hit due to the Internet gag. “We are not able to fill applications online or download the study material because of slow speed,” said a student.
