Jammu: An Army jawan was killed on Sunday in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir after Pakistan resorted to ceasefire violation.
The firing took place along the Line of Control (LoC) in Shahpur area of the district, according to officials.
According to the sources of news agency IANS, the Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in the Shahpur area late Saturday night which continued till Sunday morning.
“The soldier was critically injured in the firing. He succumbed to his injuries earlier today,” IANS reported quoting sources.
