Samba, 07- Nov;SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, IPS chaired a crime review meeting with Addl. SP Samba, all Supervisory Officers, Sr. Prosecuting Officer, SHOs & I/C PPs of District Samba at Conference Hall DPO Samba.
The main thrust of the meeting was to gear up the process of investigation and to bring down the pendency of the cases. During the meeting, crime figures of all the Police Stations of District Samba were discussed with special focus on reasons for pendency of under investigation cases of the previous years as well as of the current year. Emphasis was laid on the disposal of cases registered under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in the Police Stations of District Samba.
Besides this, property related cases, NDPS Act cases, Excise Act Cases and Bovine Smuggling cases were discussed in length during the meeting. All the supervisory Officers/SHOs were directed to launch a special drive for the arrest of absconders and tracing out of missing persons. Directions were issued to disposed-off pending inquest proceedings on merits.
Further all the supervisory officers were directed to conduct quality investigation covering all aspects and take each & every necessary measure to ensure conviction in cases in the court of law. All the Police Officers were directed to ensure optimum use of preventive measures to curb the crime in their area on responsibilities.
The Chairing Officer also directed all supervisory officers to conduct regular crime meetings with their investigating officers to make flawless investigation of the cases and bring these cases to their logical conclusion. At the end of the meeting, all the SDPOs/SHOs were asked to further direct the concerned IOs to maximize the disposal by the end of current year to bring down the pendency.
