Srinagar, Apr 5: Police said on Thursday that militants barged into the house of Abdul Gaffar Bhat son of Muhammad Subhan Bhat in north Kashmir’s Hajin and beat the inmates and abducted Gaffar and his son Manzoor Ahmed Bhat.
The police spokesman said, “last night at about 11:45 PM, in Hajin area of Bandipora, militants believed to be affiliated with banned militant organisation LeT, barged into the house of Abdul Gaffar Bhat son of Mohd Subhan Bhat forcefully and started to beat the inmates.”
However, Abdul Gaffar was successful to escape from them in spite of being fired upon, and sustaining injuries, police stated.
Gaffar has been hospitalised where he is being treated, but his son Manzoor is still with the militants, police said and added that a massive manhunt to trace the abducted person has been launched.
