Under PDP BJP govt, our religious places no more safe: Ali Mohd Sagar

Denounces use of force inside Jamia Masjid
Srinagar, May 26 : National Conference on Saturday condemned the
use of force resulting in serious injuries to dozens on Friday
afternoon inside the historic Jamia Masjid, Srinagar.
In a statement issued to KNS, party General Secretary
Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar lambasted the PDP BJP government for its
abject failure in handling a sensitive state like Jammu & Kashmir. He
said, “Now even our Masjids are not safe. The way forces fired
indiscriminately inside and outside the Masjid on Friday afternoon is
unprecedented. It was done with a sole aim to damage the sanctity of
Jamia Masjid which is revered by lakhs of people across the state.”
Terming the firing of pellet shells, pava shells inside the Masjid
premises as shocking and unacceptable, Sagar said, “Such oppressive
tendencies of the Mehbooba Mufti government are indicative of the
governments frustration who are hell bent in provoking people. PDP BJP
combine has now metamorphosed into a brutal regime spearheading the
state where the rule of law is nowhere to be seen. Ever since they
came into power, people of the state have witnessed chaos, maiming,
killings of the highest order. While the CM is shamelessly clinging to
her chair, she has failed to do justice to the sanctity of the office
she heads and has failed to protect the dignity of the people of the
    state ,” Sagar said.
While denouncing the brutal use of pellet guns and pava shells inside
Jamia Masjid Sagar said, “It’s a sad day for all of us where a central
mosque in Srinagar is targeted in such a way. This is brute use of
force where hundreds of people who had come to offer Friday prayers at
Jamia Masjid were humiliated in such a way. Needless to say this
action by police and other forces has hurt the sentiments of lakhs of
    peace loving Kashmiris.”
Later Sagar visited city areas including Nowpora, Alamdar Colony,
Miskeen Bagh and other areas to take stock of the ongoing work. On the
occasion, Sagar announced release of a specified amount from his CDF
for upgardation of power infrastructure and other public utilities.
