    Unscheduled power cuts continue to irk people of Ramnagar Villages

    Udhampur, 11 May: The people of different villages in Ramnagar Tehsil are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD) for ‘failing to provide adequate electricity in their areas. Inhabitants of various areas including in Chowki, Katwalt, Rassain, Kella, Bari, Ladana, Sattian, Majua, Jandrore, Incha, Preya, Tagan, Badal, Kanah and Birnoo here have accused the higher authorities for ignoring their plights and were demanding complete redresser of their genuine grievance. The residents of said areas told State Observer Correspondent that the Power Development Department (PDD) Ramnagar is subjecting them to unscheduled power cuts in the scorching heat. Locals said that with the unscheduled power cuts in the area, the people are being forced to take to streets. “We are continuously pleading before the higher ups in this regard but the promises done by the authorities proved hoax, duo to the power cuts the in a commercial area.
    “The authorities have miserably failed to provide adequate electricity especially in the evening hours thereby leaving us to lurch at large,” the residents threatening to stage protests against PDD department, the residents said, “If the unnecessary power cuts won’t end, we will block the Ramnagar – Udhampur road to protest against the department and district administration Udhampur. They later appealed Chief Engineer of PDD and DC Udhampur to personally intervene into the matter and redress their genuine demands at earliest.
