Srinagar: Shutdown is being observed in Kashmir valley on the call of Joint Resistance Leadership against any move to weaken Article 35-A that is scheduled to come up for hearing in Supreme Court this week.
Shops and business establisments remain closed on Wednesday and traffic also remained mostly off the roads in several districts of Valley.
However, train services resumed in Valley after being suspended for a day in south Kashmir following the killing of militants.
Officials said all trains chugged as per schedule after a fresh advisory was received this morning to resume all train runs on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region today.
