Vikramaditya lacks knowledge about freedom struggle, meaning of family legacy: Balbir

    JAMMU:

    BALBIR-1

The self-claimed senior leader of Congress and party’s candidate from Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency, Vikramaditya Singh, having few months tenure in Congress after deserting PDP, in fact lacks knowledge about freedom struggle, its real heroes, meaning of family legacy and nationalism. This was stated by BJP State Spokesperson & Media Incharge for Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Parliamentary constituency, Balbir Ram Rattan, while reacting to what Congress candidate stated in public address in Basohli on Wednesday.
Balbir further said that a party, which tie knots of ‘Dosti’ with Kashmir-based regional political parties chanting pro-Pakistan slogans, insulting Indian symbols, calling their activists as ‘Mujaheedins’, cannot be expected of standing for nationalism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Balbir said that the Congress leader is also not aware that he is contesting election of a particular constituency and need to claim achievements of his party in said region instead of bringing in freedom struggle movement, more so, the personal legacy of his family. The fact is that one of the Congress leaders, Dr Karan Singh, remained Union Minister for many years with important portfolios like Health, Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministries, after being elected as representative of Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency and Vikramaditya should explain how many mega projects, including Medical and Engineering Colleges, were brought and what steps were taken to explore tourism potential in Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Doda, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Inderwal, Gool-Arnas, Gulabgarh, Bani, Basohli, Billawar and Hiranagar and which areas got air-connectivity.
While questioning Congress candidate to explain who were responsible for forcing great Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh to live and die in exile in a Mumbai hospital, Balbir said that before talking of family legacy, Vikramaditya should also explain as to why he keep on changing parties. Isn’t it lust for power? If he urges to serve the nation, better he not contest any such election, which has the support of political parties with credentials of double speak on nationalism and secularism, he said. Is this legacy of his family to forget blows and wounds inflicted on their elders by Kashmiri leaders, he further questioned.
Before raising fingers on BJP candidate, Vikramaditya should know that for the first time, record projects and welfare schemes have been brought for every area of the Lok Sabha constituency and asked Congress to come out with at least five achievements of their 55-year rule.
